Cookie Policy

Effective May 1, 2026 · Last updated April 23, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how Zana uses them, and the choices you have. It is part of our Privacy Policy.

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember things like your login state or preferences across visits.

We also use similar technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage (browser-based storage). For simplicity we refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.

2. Cookies We Use

Zana keeps its cookie footprint deliberately small. Here is everything we currently use:

2.1 Strictly necessary (always on)

These cookies are required for the platform to function. Without them you cannot log in or use the service. You cannot opt out of strictly necessary cookies.

2.2 Functional (preferences)

Small amounts of data stored in your browser's localStorage to remember things like whether you've dismissed onboarding tips or your preferred view on session lists. No data is transmitted to us via these keys.

2.3 Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to measure aggregate traffic patterns (pages visited, referrer, country). Vercel Analytics is privacy-first: it does not use cookies and does not track individual users.

2.4 Advertising

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. Zana does not serve ads and does not sell your information to advertisers.

3. Cookies from Third-Party Services

When you use certain features, third-party providers may set their own cookies:

We do not control these third-party cookies. You can manage them through those providers' privacy settings.

4. How to Control Cookies

4.1 Browser controls

Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies. Check your browser's help documentation for instructions. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from using Zana.

4.2 Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no industry standard for how to respond to this signal, Zana currently does not respond to it. However, since we don't use cross-site tracking or advertising cookies, this has no effect on what we collect about you.

4.3 Opting out of analytics

Since Vercel Analytics is cookieless and tracks only aggregate usage, there is no specific opt-out mechanism. If you want to prevent any data from being sent, you can use a browser extension that blocks the analytics endpoint.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove services that set cookies. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy reflects the most recent version. Material changes will also be communicated through the platform or by email.
